Dyson Ball?

Before i start designing the vehicle itself, as in the chassis, i was thinking on wheels to start with, how would the vehicle move? So i decided to design a different type of vehicle, much like the "Hailfire" from Starwars.

Once i did a quick mock-up of wheels of the vehicle, i started to think how it would move, and how the chassis stay upright, without spinning with the wheels. I found this picture which helped me visualise a bit more to how the wheels would move around without the whole thing spinning; 


I liked the look of this and i see how the wheels would move around the whole circle effectivly. But if i don't want to model a vehicle like the Hailfire, i wanted more of a genuine care look to the vehicle, with a different type of movement. And while i was sketching this car;


And while i was sketching the ball wheel, I looked into how the Dyson ball technology works, which if i could get a ball to work as a wheel it would move alot differently than a normal wheel.

The picture above just shows the one wheel, and how it move compaired to 4.

Proposal Idea

Proposal

Genre: Arcade Racer Game.

Brief Overview: By the end of the project i would like to achieve to have a fully working arcade style racing game, which includes 1 track (modeled to a decent quailty). The feel of the track will be futuristic seeming as the cars will be futuristic looking also. The tracks themselves will be long straights with gravity defying parts at certain points of the tracks, picture for example;


The quick sketch above shows what i would like some parts of the track to look like, this will be not limited to what is shown above, i would like to make some parts almost rollercoaster like, for 1 part of the track i would like to have a "flying" stage where the vehicle would take off from the track so the player would have to fly around in 3D space to where the track beginds again (pictures coming to example). The vehicles themselves (Car or Bike) will be fast moving, which i would like a trail of light behind them.


This is an example of what the vehicle might look like, but i might be going with a car counterpart. I would like to race to last around 3-4 minutes long, which will hopefully be enough to add everything i would like into the track.
